IFUP-ICT 2007 and Study Abroad Opportunities

Chancellor Richard Kettner-Polley met in Leipzig Germany with representatives of technical universities in St Petersburg (Russia), Dublin (Ireland) Brest and Lille (France), Valencia (Spain), Zilinia (Slovenia), and Leipzig (Germany).  As a result of these meetings, Dr. Kettner-Polley and Dr Volkmar Bruekner will be co-chairing two of the five sessions for International Forum for University Presidents – Information Communications Technology (IFUP-ICT)  to be held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) in November 2007.  Dr. Kettner-Polley spoke at the 2006 meeting in Daejeon (South Korea) in October 2006 and was elected to the executive committee for the organization.  He will speak at the

Education Without Borders in Abu Dhabi and Executive World Forum in Dubai in February 2007.  The forums provide the opportunity for CTU to establish partnerships with foreign Universities.



 

In addition, the Leipzig meeting dealt with a proposal from the seven technical Universities to be submitted to the Erasmus program, operated out of Brussels Belgium.  The program provides scholarships and oversight for student exchange programs.  While CTU cannot formally join this European consortium, as a result of the meetings, we have been invited to exchange undergraduate and masters students with these Universities.  The exchanges would be for approximately five months and the tuition cost would be roughly equivalent to CTU tuition.  Anyone interested in exploring the possibility of studying at one of these European technical Universities should contact Dr. Kettner-Polley at: rkpolley@coloradotech.edu
