Masters Degree Colorado Executive Format Masters Degree

CTU Institute for Advanced Studies recognizes that most our students are working professionals with busy lives and many competing responsibilities. That’s why we have developed an innovative format and options that allow students to earn their degrees when it is most convenient for them.

All programs at CTU-IAS are offered in the executive format. Students come together for residencies and then continue to work together online between residencies. For the doctoral programs, there are six residencies, two per year for three years. Each residency lasts 4½ days. Doctoral residencies are held in Colorado Springs.

DOCTORAL PROGRAMS

The Doctoral degree programs at CTU are designed to foster true intellectual and professional development. Students can learn and practice vital skills and develop core competencies that can enhance their understanding and performance as executives, consultants and educators. Cohort-based enrollment enables students to study and collaborate with their peers throughout the program, while an applied approach to learning encourages students to conduct practical research and develop solutions specific to their situation. Three times per year, residencies are held on the CTU campus in Colorado Springs, offering students the opportunity to have shared experiences and meet with their instructors. These four-day sessions offer intense discussion and training, workshops and roundtable discussions.

Four practical projects over the three-year program emphasize mentored research and produce publishable products. These projects take the place of a traditional dissertation and are guided by experienced researchers and previous cohort members, enabling students the opportunity to become recognized leaders in their field. CTU has an extensive online library, allowing students to have access to many of the same materials as on-campus learners.

A dedicated support staff provides administration, financial aid and academic support, assistance with travel plans and 24/7 technical support. For those who have never studied online, training in the online course management system is available. There is a cohort chair for each new group of students to help ensure each Doctoral student's academic experience is positive and that all needs are met. The university is committed to providing a higher learning environment that is supportive, progressive and in step with the rigorous demands of an evolving and fiercely competitive world.
